So, I'm having a little trouble getting my blog up and running.  I know it's a slow process, but this still makes me a wee bit sad.  I have promoted some, but I'm also a little shy and embarrassed to promote it to my actual friends, like on Facebook.  I know that's silly, but for now I'm just gonna wait on that until I get a little more content and organization.  I'm also a kind of slow poster, with a borderline crazy 2 year old I don't have too much free time on my hands!

Ok, well, today I'm going to show you all how to make some really cute, fast, and simple decorative soap.  These are really great for sprucing up and customizing a bathroom or kitchen, and also make super cute and simple last minute gifts!

What you'll need:
-Rectangle shaped store-bought soap.  Or you can use homemade soap for an even more personal feel!
-Some cute little pictures to put on the soap (I found this file folder with the cute little birds in the .97 cent section at Wal-Mart)
-Scissors to cut out the pictures (if needed)
-Mod Podge
-A sponge or brush to apply Mod Podge  (like my homemade sponge applicator lol)
I bought Ivory soap and it has that nice logo punched down into it, so, if you need to, take a sharp un-serrated  knife and just skim that part off, leaving a nice smooth surface.
Then, put a thin layer of the Mod Podge on the top of soap, and add one of your little pictures.  Make sure the picture you use is small enough to fit nicely on top.
Give that about 20-30 minutes to dry.  In the meantime you could eat some Nerds and watch some Spongebob...Ok that's what I did, you could do something else if you want!  I also used this time to cut out some more cute little birds.
Now, after that's dried pretty good, add a nice thick layer of Mod  Podge to the top, to seal it in good.  (don't worry, if you've never used Mod Podge before, it dries clear).
Now comes the fun part...waiting.  To make sure it's really good and dry, I left mine to dry over night.  But the next morning it was nice and dry and done!  Cute huh?  Now you can display them proudly or wrap them in some cellophane and tie a little ribbon or string around them for a cute and fast gift!  Hope you enjoy!

Optional:  After it dries you can add more layers of Mod Podge for a thicker coating.  I've also seen people dip the top in melted paraffin canning wax to seal them, but I didn't have any on hand.  If you do use paraffin wax, the soap is still usable, but with the Mod Podge alone, it is only decorative.

Well New Years is over....next up....Valentines Day!!  Ah, a time for romance, chocolates, and single people complaining about this horrible holiday ❤  Good times.

For all you lovelies out there who still like Valentines Day, I'm gonna show you how to make a very simple and super cute Sweet Heart Garland.

What you'll need:

-Construction paper in your choice of colors
-Scissors
-A stapler
First, cut your construction paper into about 1 inch strips.

Next, fold your first strip in half and staple near the crease.
Then pull the ends around to form a heart, and staple the bottom together.
Then take another strip of paper and fold it in half.  Slide the crease up to the bottom of the first heart and staple about 3/4 of an inch up.
Pull the ends of the second paper down to form a heart and staple near the ends.
Repeat these steps until you get the desired length of garland.
Once you are done, hang it up for a cute pop of color!  Simple and cute!  Hope you enjoy!
